Driving Directions to Red Oak and Red Barn

Red Oak and Red Barn Camp are located at 9057 Kirtland-Chardon Rd, Kirtland, Ohio 44094.  9057 is actually the Camp Director’s Address.  The Camp Driveway is the next driveway, with the gate and sign.

NOTE:  Many GPS systems will put you on CHARDON RD – Do not listen to your GPS, you want Kirtland-Chardon Rd.

 To get to Red Oak/Red Barn from the East:

 Take I-90 West and exit at Rt. 306.

• Take a left on Route 306, go past Lakeland Community College and down the big hill toward Kirtland.
• At the bottom on the hill is a stoplight.  This is the Rt. 615 Intersection.  Take a left.
• The next stoplight is the Kirtland Chardon Road intersection.  Take a right.
• Stay on Kirtland Chardon for about 3.1 miles.  You will pass Penitentiary Glenn Park.
• After you pass a fire station, the Red Oak driveway is the third driveway on the left.
• After you pass a pond, the general parking area is on the left, in front a barn-like building - our Science Center.
• Do not drive past science center or pool.

To get to Red Oak/Red Barn from the South:

• If you are coming from Akron or other parts south, get to 271 North, and follow signs to 90 East, Erie PA.
• Exit at Rt. 306.
• Take a right on Route 306, go past Lakeland Community College and down the big hill toward Kirtland.
• At the bottom on the hill is a stoplight.  This is the Rt. 615 Intersection.  Take a left.
• The next stoplight is the Kirtland Chardon Road intersection.  Take a right.
• Stay on Kirtland Chardon for about 3.1 miles.  You will pass Penitentiary Glenn Park.
• After you pass a fire station, the Red Oak driveway is the third driveway on the left.
• After you pass a pond, the general parking area is on the left, in front a barn-like building - our Science Center.

To get to Red Oak/Red Barn from the West via 480:

• Take I-480 E toward Youngstown.
• Merge onto US-422 E via EXIT 26 on the LEFT toward I-271 N/ERIE PA/SOLON.
• Merge onto I-271 EXPRESS LN N via the exit on the LEFT toward I-90/ERIE PA.
• Continue on 90 East toward Erie PA, and exit at Rt. 306.
• Take a right on Route 306, go past Lakeland Community College and down the big hill toward Kirtland.

• Continue on 90 East toward Erie PA, and exit at Rt. 306.  At the 90/Rt. 2 split in Euclid, stay on 90 - don't go straight on RT. 2.
• Take a right on Route 306, go past Lakeland Community College and down the big hill toward Kirtland.

Driving Directions to Chincapin Barn and Pool

The Chincapin Barn is located at 8510 Mentor Rd, Kirtland Hills, Ohio 44060.  Morning drop off is at the barn.

The Chincapin Pool driveway does not have an address, but the closest is 9380 Baldwin Rd.  Evening pickup is at the pool.

To get to the Chincapin Barn:

• Continue on 90 East toward Erie PA, and exit at Rt. 615/Center Street.  Take a right.
• At bottom of the hill, turn left on Chillecothe Rd.
• Stay on Chillecothe until you get to the Little Mountain Road intersection. Turn right on Little Mountain Rd.
• At Mentor Rd, turn right.
• Turn right into the Chincapin Barn Driveway.

To get to the Chincapin Pool:

• Continue on 90 East toward Erie PA, and exit at Rt. 615/Center Street.  Take a right.
• At bottom of the hill, turn left on Chillecothe Rd., then immediately turn right onto Baldwin Rd. You will pass St. Hubert's Episcopal church on the right and the little red schoolhouse on the left across from  Booth Road.
• Continue up Baldwin, up a winding hill.
• At the sharp bend in the road is a private gravel driveway.  This is the entrance to our pool. 
• At the fork in the gravel driveway, bear to your left, and you will see the parking area in front of the pool.

To get to Chincapin Pool or Barn from Red Oak:

• Take a right out of camp driveway.
• At Booth road, take a right.
• Drive down the big hill and bear left, staying on Booth.
• At Baldwin Rd, take a right.  Go up the windy hill.
• At the sharp curve, do one of the following:
  • Go straight into gravel drive if you want to go to the pool. Bear left at the fork in the road. 
  • Proceed around bend to get to the barn and following remaining directions.
• Turn right on Little Mountain Rd.
• At Mentor Rd, turn right.
• Turn right into the Chincapin Barn Driveway.

To get to Red Oak/Red Barn from Chincapin Barn:

• Take a left out of barn driveway.
• Take a left on Little Moutain Rd and drive about a 1/2 mile to Baldwin Rd.
• Turn left on Baldwin.  Stay on Baldwin down hill.
• At bottom of hill turn left on Booth
• Bear right up the hill, stay on Booth.
• Turn left on Kirtland-Chardon.
• After you pass a fire station, the Red Oak driveway is the third driveway on the left.
• After you pass a pond, the general parking area is on the left, in front a barn-like building - our Science Center.
• Do not drive past science center or pool.
