This year we will again be offering the  Red Oak Junior Counselor Leadership Program (JCLP).  This program focuses on training young men and women in leadership, safety, and service, following American Camping Association and Red Oak Camp standards. The goal is to create responsible young counselors who may be able to work at our camp, or gain the experience necessary to work at other camps with Red Oak's recommendation.

This program is perfect for former Red Oak, Red Barn, or Chincapin Campers who want to continue to come to our camps, and who want to achieve a career path that could carry them through high school, college and beyond.

This program is for young men and women ages 13 to 15. It is primarily a day program, with a one week overnight component.  The JCLP is a mixture of fun and learning.  Participants have a chance to be campers again, and work to master Red Oak's many activities, such as archery, canoeing, climbing and challenge course, fishing, outdoor cooking, nature science, and riflery  We are also planning some climbing, canoeing and short backpacking trips.   JCLP Participants will also get a chance to work with our adult staff and campers at Red Barn and Chincapin, and learn how to prepare and run camp activities.

This six week program costs $1,000.00.  Bus service and lunches are available.  Costs are specified on the enrollment application.

DATES: June 21 to July 30.    The camp day starts at 9:30 and ends at 4:00, except on Fridays. Campers must pack their own lunch or sign up for the box lunch service.

The JCLP residence week is July 19 to  July 23. Campers are dropped off Monday July 19 at 8:30 am for the residence portion of the program, and are picked up Friday at 4:00 pm.
