Kids are busier than ever with various summer commitments, so Red Oak has several one-week camps, including:

 

 

Chincapin Equestrian Extension Camp

This one-week day camp for girls 8 to 15 features a week of riding and horse-related activities at Chincapin.

Camp starts at 9 am and ends at 3 pm. The girls receive riding instruction and barn management lessons throughout the day. Instruction is geared toward each rider's ability. Marty Toneff, the Director of Riding, and her staff, plan another fun horse-related activities. The pool will be open and there will be free swim, if time permits.

Van fee: $58.00 

Dates: August 2 - August 6
Tuition: $325.00

Co-Ed Adventure Day Camp Sessions

Red Oak is offering three one-week, co-ed Adventure Day Camp Sessions for boys and girls who are 7 through 12 years of age.  Adventure Day Camp includes small group activities and games, and open activity time, where campers choose from a variety of activities, such as archery, climbing, canoeing, fishing hiking, low challenge course,  swimming, tennis, and more.   

 

Campers pack their lunch for this program.

Enrollment: - 35 girls and boys

  • Session 1:  June 7 - June 11

  • Session 2:  August 2 - August 6 (this session runs concurrently with Overnight Extension Week program)

  • Session 3:  August 9 - August 13.  For Session 3, campers will spend 2 days at Red Oak and three days at Chincapin. This session includes an introduction to horseback riding at our barn in Kirtland Hills, in addition to our standard camp activities. 

Tuition: $255.00.

One Week Overnight Camps 

Red Oak is excited to announce the addition of three, one-week residence camp sessions.  These co-ed sessions are for campers ages 9 to 14 who would like to try a traditional overnight camp experience on a short-term basis.  

Each week will include a variety of camp activities.  During the day, campers will have access to all open activities run by our Red Barn Staff, including swimming, tennis, hiking, archery, fishing, canoeing, crafts, and field games.     

The afternoons and evenings will be comprised of special activities.  Campers will be challenged by our 21 element high ropes course and climbing tower, with a final ride down our 450 foot long zip line.   

Campers will also participate in activities that stress cooperation, teamwork, and problem solving, such as swamp stompers and frustration tubes.  We also introduce campers to camp chores, including cabin clean up, KP, and wash house duties.   

Enrollment: 25 boys and girls.

Session 1: June 21 to  June 25

Session 2: June 28 to July 2

Session 3: July 5 to July 9

Tuition: $450.00 per session

Extension Week

The final residence week at Red Oak is for campers ages 8 to 14 who want a a fun, relaxed overnight camp experience at Red Oak.  In addition to our in-camp activities, this week features field trips to a water park, amusement park, and/or museum or zoo.  Extension Week gives campers one more chance to try their favorite activities, including low ropes, canoeing and fishing, tennis, field games, archery, swimming, and climbing. Campers also help with KP and cabin clean up.  

Extension Week is perfect for families who have participated in one of our other programs and who want one more week of camp!

Enrollment:  35 boys and girls

Dates: August 2 to August 6

Tuition: $450.00.
