Dear Red Oak Camp Families,

I hope that you remain in good health during this challenging time. Iā€™m sure you have been awaiting news about summer camp. Over many long days and sleepless nights, our staff and I worked to find solutions to every possible contingency, but ultimately we have determined there are too many uncertainties to running camp this season. It is with a heavy heart that I share with you that Red Oak Camp will not be offering our traditional Red Barn and Chincapin camps this summer.

I know your camper was looking forward to the Red Oak camp experience this summer. Operating a safe and enriching camp takes many months of preparation under normal circumstances. However, with so many unknowns about the COVID-19 virus, combined with shortages of tests and supplies, as well as based on the currently available guidance from the CDC, Governor DeWine, and the American Camp Association, this year Red Oak cannot in good faith offer the safe and enriching camp experience your children anticipated and deserve.

I know this is heartbreaking news. None of us ever imagined we would see a summer without camp. In our 73 year history, Red Oak Camp has never been cancelled. We are considering alternative program options for summer 2020, and we will be reaching out to gauge your interest shortly.

We remain confident that together the Red Oak community will remain strong. Please stay safe and healthy. We hope to welcome you to camp again soon.
Sincerely,

David Faulstich
Executive Director
