2022 Winter Tree ID Hikes

The grounds of Lantern Court are home to a wide variety of conifers or needle and cone-bearing trees.

Some species are native to the landscape, while others were thoughtful additions to the estate's gardens.

Leaf shape is the usual starting point for deciduous tree species identification. But how can you identify a deciduous tree in winter when it is bare of its leaves?

Learn to recognize any tree by its unique characteristics with us.
